Welcome to this week’s Thrive in Five. I’m Dr. Bob Hoffman for The Masters Circle Global, where legends are made in legendary practices are built through chiropractic coaching. Today I want to ask, have you mastered the art and science of persuasion? Today’s most successful business model is based on six essential concepts, and yet 99% of our profession is unaware of any of these concepts or how they interfere or more likely stop your practice from growing. To remind you, the six essentials are friction pricing, clinic operations, becoming a passion brand, persuasion, and finally getting inside the head of the decision maker. Today our focus is on persuasion. Today we’re going to discuss why it’s so essential in today’s world for you to master the science and art of persuasion. When you can consistently persuade, inspire, and ignite the imagination and the emotion of others, you instantly become unstoppable, irresistible, and irreplaceable.

We all like to think that those of us who consistently produce the best clinical outcomes should have the most successful practices, but unfortunately, this is rarely the case. It’s those colleagues who are the best communicators, who fully understand how to influence the thinking and the behavior of others that have the most successful practices. It is in clinical skill only. It is a social and communication skill that is the common denominator of practices that are crushing it. In today’s marketplace. The very nature of work has changed and will continue to change, and so are the skills required for you to stand out, get ahead, and achieve more. Remember that if the rate of change outside your practice is greater than the rate of change inside your practice, at best, your practice will have significant challenges and at worse, you won’t have a practice for very long.

According to the scientists, while the tools we use to communicate and influence have evolved the way our brains are wired to consume and then comprehend information has not changed at all. The ability to convince others that your ideas, beliefs, or healthcare recommendations matter is the single greatest skill that instantly will give you a competitive edge. What would your practice be like if you mastered this skill to the point that you produce as many referrals as you could possibly handle, that every potential new patient accepted your full care plan, that your patients followed your recommendations exactly the way you laid ’em out from beginning to end, or that your staff was so super productive and powerful, that they grew your practice without you. You mastered the ancient art of persuasion by combining your words, your ideas, and your emotion to move the other person into action.

This is a fundamental skill to go from good to great learning. How to develop an emotional connection with others like your staff, your patients, or other professionals in your community is the winning ticket in today’s world, have you mastered the art of persuasion? The truth is, the short answer is no. I’m urging you to do whatever it takes to master the ancient art of persuasion to thrive in the modern world. It’s a trainable skill. Ladies and gentlemen. The odds are overwhelming that you never realized how important persuasion is and probably considered yourself a good communicator. And yet the unfortunate truth is most of your new patients do not accept your care plan, drop outta care prematurely, and you have files filled with an active patients. This is another example of the benefits and the reasons why it’s so important for you to hire a chief operating officer.

And I’m certain if you’re honest with yourself, you know I’m talking about you. The most important question is this. Is it possible for you to succeed or express your potential or feel the joy in fulfillment you are meant to feel every day.
