Chiropractic Coaching: Making The Invisible Visible to Create Your Million Dollar Practice

Welcome to this Week’s Thrive in Five. I’m Dr. Bob Hoffman for The Masters Circle Global where legends are made and legendary practices are built through chiropractic coaching. Today I want to discuss the six essentials and making the invisible visible to create your million dollar plus practice. This may sound so strange to you, but one of the main keys in life is knowing how to make the invisible visible. The truth is those of us who consistently make the invisible visible always do best in life, so much in life and so much in your practice is invisible. It flies below the radar. You’re unconscious about it, unaware of it. Your brain has blocked it out and is totally ignoring it. Making the invisible visible is about raising your awareness of what may be currently happening that is invisible inside the practice. And this is so important because we’re all visual creatures.

Yes, we use all of our senses to connect and learn, but our most important and most effective sense is the sense of sight. We are primarily visual. The reason we use metaphors and analogies is to have the other person see what you’re saying, to increase the likelihood of them connecting and understanding you. For example, friction is a huge problem in practice, and 95% of our colleagues don’t even know that. They don’t even know about the dramatic negative impacts friction is currently having until someone makes that invisible issue friction visible to you, so you can notice the many, many points of friction that are reducing or eliminating some of the growth opportunities inside your practice. Another example would be knowing what the real motivation for care almost every single patient has when they contact you and how damaging that motivation is. 

If you’re not aware of it and don’t deal with it during your case history and exam, you see the patient’s primary motivation for starting care is they’re in pain.
However, if that is their only or most dominant motivation and you are successful in reducing or eliminating their pain, at the same time, you’re also eliminating their motivation to come back for care once their pain is mostly or completely resolved. Another example is not realizing that you’re the CEO running your business and also not knowing that every successful CEO has a highly competent and experienced chief operating officer to guide them in turn into reality the CEO’s goals and mission. Until someone makes this invisible concept visible for you, I want you to know that there are dozens of these examples, Dozens that all are impacting your business, and with you being blind to any many or all of these, it becomes near impossible for you to create a million dollar plus practice. 

Remember that if the doctor doesn’t make a connection, the patient won’t allow you, the doctor to make the correction, and it’s hard to grow a million dollar plus practice by doing the same things over and over again without adapting, refining, and improving. Remember to have what only 5% have. You have to be willing to do what 95% are unwilling to do, and quite frankly, the six essentials should always be part of your daily and weekly training if you are really serious about making an impact and moving in the direction of becoming best in class.
