Chiropractic Coaching: What Do You Have That Everyone Wants?
Today, I want to ask, what do you have that everyone wants? So please listen and learn from this week’s Thrive in Five because the answer is going to really surprise you. I’m Dr. Bob Hoffman for The Masters Circle Global where legends are made and legendary practices are built through chiropractic coaching.
When I ask this simple but significant question to chiropractic doctors, their responses are all logical and make total sense. But unfortunately are all wrong. Many say it’s their super specific and advanced chiropractic technique is what everyone wants and I can assure you it’s not that at all.
Several respond by telling me that they have the answer to be healthy and to age gracefully and that they themselves have the talent and experience to find and fix all or almost all that causes pain and suffering. But unfortunately, it’s not that either. Others tell me they have a great staff or open five days a week or that they really educate their patients or that their fees are very reasonable.
All good, but all wrong. Some even think that the answer is that they’re friendly, experienced and caring. Once again, all of these responses, responses are reasonable, but unfortunately none of these responses have anything to do with the one thing you must have if you’re serious about adapting to the changing times or the one thing you must have to grow your business and to create a significant profit from your practice.
You know, everyone has heard of the phrase supply and demand. But have never considered how this core concept applies to you and your practice, applies to generating profit, or applies to charging higher fees. Supply and demand allows you to increase your pricing power and generate revenue in a way that your colleagues can’t or won’t.
Demand is what people are willing to pay for, and even better, what most are already paying for. Pricing power only occurs when you have something that others want. that they can’t get anywhere else so that they’re willing to pay a premium for it. So what is it that everybody wants? And they’re willing to pay for the simple and powerful answer is lifestyle.
People and patients will pay anything to improve their lifestyle. Let me give you some examples. Before 2020, the average cost of a stationary bicycle was somewhere between 125 and 175. And then a new company called Peloton comes out with a stationary bicycle that has a computer screen along with your own personal instructor and they sell their bike for 2, 495 plus an all access membership costing an additional 2, 495.
Five or 600 a year every year, and they can hardly keep their bikes in stock. Peloton created pricing power and offered something people wanted and couldn’t get anywhere else relating to improving their lifestyle. Global consumers spent more than 177 billion on nutritional supplements last year, and yes, nutritional supplements are all about improving your lifestyle.
In 2023. Athletic running shoes called sneakers their sales estimated at almost 400 billion globally again relating to lifestyle These are just a few examples of the enormous money people and your patients spend on their lifestyle outside of your office and I believe it’s time for you to claim your fair share of this multi billion dollar lifestyle business The good news is that lifestyle is part of the lifetime patient formula, and in fact, lifestyle intervention is a very big part.
Unfortunately, chiropractors acknowledge that genetics is the gun, but lifestyle is the trigger, and yet most chiropractors don’t address their patients lifestyle issues, and even for the very few who do, they don’t know how to monetize it properly or effectively. The real money in practice, ladies and gentlemen, is in getting your patients to come back first to get out of pain and then to continue to improve their health and wellness through ongoing chiropractic care and lifestyle intervention to retrain their brain and their body back to optimal function through the proven formula of repetition over time.
To keep your patients coming back and becoming committed to a proactive life, working on being healthier, you have to know how to convert them from pain care to health care. And this requires only two things. First, you have to remove the multiple points of friction, slowing down or preventing your practice growth and profitability.
And second, you must master the ability to make the invisible visible. Once again, you One of the most important character traits in life is to be coachable, to be okay with someone helping you to make the right decisions, guiding you on what to focus on to grow your practice and your profitability, how to affect effectively segment your patients in your services, as well as properly clarifying what business you’re really in and how to expand your capacity by expanding your healing team and how to reconnect with your patients in your community to grow your market share.
Being coachable is so important because a professional expert will see your blind spots, inspire you to focus on making consistent progress, and mastering the fundamentals. As I have often said, you must be willing to let go of the past to embrace the future and prepare for the future. When you wake up to what is possible and recommit to your dream, becoming the best version of yourself and adapting to the changing times, restoring your energy, your certainty, your commitment, you will recession proof and future proof your practice.
When you understand the reality of being disconnected from how your audience sees you and how, what business you’re really in, you’ll realize that the Functional Health Management score is your first and crucial step to connecting the business you see yourself in and what others see you in. The functional health management score will also make the lifestyle changes your patients are facing visible to them and to you.
Your case history on a new patient is about your patient’s past, but the functional health management score is about your patient’s future. Quite frankly, the functional health management score is essential in today’s successful marketplace model, especially if you have any hope in getting your connection back in alignment with them.
with how others see you and what they’re willing to pay for. And the functional health management score will also connect what you have with what others want to improve their own life and their lifestyle. If you’re not familiar with the functional health management score, or if you want to take the test yourself right now, go ahead, take out your cell phone, go onto your camera, aim your camera right on the QR code on your screen, right this minute.
Go ahead. I’ll wait for you. Okay. so much about your score and how easy it is to implement this into your practice to transform your practice like nothing else. Go ahead and take that picture right now. It will show you how to make the invisible visible in your life and in your practice and what you could do that no one else is doing.
The fundamentals of practice have changed. Your focus has to change. The business model has changed and the ability how you influence other people have changed. You need to know what these changes and refinements are and how to implement them properly and effectively. And it begins with having the functional health management score and realizing what you have that everyone wants.
