Chiropractic Practice: The Power of Emotional Engagement

Hello everybody and welcome to Thrive in Five. I’m Dr. Dennis Perman, and I’ll be your chiropractic coach for today. You know, way back when, when I was in practice, I had two major outcomes for every office visit with every patient. The first of my outcomes was nobody comes into my office with a subluxation complex. I can’t figure out. So as a result, I spent a fortune of money, tens of thousands of dollars and hundreds and hundreds of hours studying every imaginable technique because I was committed that no matter who came into my office, I was gonna be able to figure out how to help them. But the second outcome is what I want to pay attention to today. You see, my intention was that the office visit that that patient had with me should be the high point of their day. You see, I understood even way back when that emotional engagement is one of the most powerful tools that any chiropractor or any person can use.

And I was committed that the time that that patient spent with me, I was gonna make sure it was uplifting, that it was fun, that it was beneficial, and that they came away from it with a really good feeling. Now, this is one of the best things you can do to build patient compliance because while, uh, most people respond to factual information, they quickly forget it. And what they remember is the emotion. Maya Angelou said, people will forget what you say. They’ll forget what you do, but they’ll remember the way you made them feel. So when a patient comes in to see us, one of our prime responsibilities is to build them up in strong and noble thought to help them to understand that, hey, your body is so important, you’ve gotta take care of it. And if you take care of it the way you take care of your car, then you know, just in a very mechanical way, that’ll be okay.

But if you become passionate, you become emotionally involved with taking proper care of yourself, you’ll see that you’ll re rewards and benefits that could not possibly be gained any other way. It’s incredibly important for us to bring emotion to our relationships because that’s what turbocharges them and causes us to have the kind of experience on this planet that we really want. Now, you may recognize that emotion and passion is one of the six essentials, the six essential strategies that we’ve been talking about for months. Now, these are in, in important concepts that help you to recognize what you need to do in order to create the practice that you really want.

So the six essential strategies you can find by going to our six Essential Strategies website, all you have to do is pass your scanner o up your phone, your camera, and pass it over this QR code, and you’ll be able to go to the six Essential Strategies website and you’ll learn these six foundational concepts that will help you to build the practice that you really want. And by using these six essential strategies, you can figure out exactly where you need to build yourself exactly what you need to do differently in order to have the practice that you really want.
