Chiropractic Practice: The Three Mistakes That Ruin Your Report of Findings

Hi everybody. I’m Dr. Dennis Perman from The Masters Circle Global. Welcome to Thrive in Five. This Thrive in Five session is called The Three Mistakes That Will Ruin Your Report of Findings. Now, I know what you’re thinking. You think I’m going to give you a lot of preachy stuff about how to make recommendations and stuff like that. Now, that’s not what this is about at all. There are three important characteristics that if you execute them effectively, your report of findings will go swimmingly. And if you don’t, well then it’s a crapshoot. Just prepare for who knows why. The first mistake that doctors make in doing their report of findings is not preparing effectively. Unpreparedness is the Cardinal’s sin. In a report of findings, the patient wants to feel like they are special and you want them to feel that they’re special. If you don’t prepare properly and you just give them a canned speech, or even worse, fun for around, not be able to deliver something that seems cogent and intelligent, well, that’s not the right place to get the patient started with their program of care.

So unpreparedness is the first cardinal sin. The second one is uncertainty. You see the patient is coming to you because you are the expert. Only you have a diploma on the wall that qualifies you to be able to make these kinds of recommendations. If you don’t feel certain, then it’s going to come out in your report of findings, and that waffling, that lack of certainty is going to affect the patient’s ability to engage. But that takes us to the third mistake, and this one is perhaps the worst of all. It’s disengagement. You see, the patient wants to feel that you’re completely engaged with their program of care and completely engaged with them when they’re in your office. If you’re paying attention I you’re engaged with them, then they have a feeling like, wow, I’m in the hands of a master. In the absence of that engagement, it’s just a crapshoot.

So we have to do everything possible, number one, to prepare properly for our report of findings. Number two, to develop certainty in our pitch and what we’re going to say, and third and most important to get and remain engaged throughout the time that you are doing the report of findings. Now, if you like information like this, one of the greatest places for you to be able to gather these kinds of distinctions is at SuperConference in just a month from now, October 5-7, we’re going to be sponsoring our SuperConference in Atlanta, Georgia, in Buckhead, and we have a variety of exciting speakers coming in. Bob and I have brand new material that we’re going to be presenting for the first time.

It’s going to be a hoot, so you’re going to want to mark your calendars. If you are already registered, fantastic. If not, then you’ll see there’s going to be a QR code that you can just run your scanner over, open up your phone, take your camera, and put it over the QR code, and it’ll take you right to a landing page that will explain all the details to you. SuperConference is always an amazing time. It’s not only great from the stage with amazing speakers that come in, but sometimes the greatest benefit that you realize is from a conversation that you have with somebody at lunch or somebody sitting next to you in class. Don’t cheat yourself out of the opportunity to move your practice and yourself forward like this. Come to SuperConference and this is something that those in the know those chiropractic entrepreneurs who really understand what it takes to be successful, they’re going to be there and you should be there too. Thank you very much for watching. I’m Dr. Dennis Perman from The Masters Circle Global signing off for Thrive in Five, where great practices are built and amazing legendary practices are created. It’s a pleasure to serve. You. Have a wonderful day.
